The pandemic has accelerated many trends and consumer behaviors and none more than online shopping. For independent pet retailers the challenge is being able to adopt an omni-channel approach that allows customers to buy any way they want while not sacrificing one or the other (brick and mortar retail vs online).
Trying to compete with online giants such as Amazon.com or Chewy, when it comes to pricing and shipping fees, can be a fools game so the key is to find the right balance between ecommerce and in-store sales. In my presentation we’ll examine ways to try and do both

This session will explore how to leverage local search to dominate your local market. Again, trying to compete with the 800 lb Gorillas of Amazon and Chewy on a national level is a fool’s game. But competing locally in your own market area actually gives local retailers an edge.
We’ll explore how to maximize your free Google My Business page and how to claim your page and be top of mind when someone searches for what the local retailer sells.
