It used to be that I’d come back to my office from various networking events with piles of business cards in my pockets.  That’s a good thing, right?  Or at least it’s supposed to be!

CARD SCAN: A NETWORKING MUST-HAVEBut often I would feel like an overburdened school boy with too much homework, relegated to dutifully typing all the contact information into my ACT! contact manager.  Or worse — I’d do nothing at all!

Which is totally counter to the whole reason for networking in the first place, which is to meet new people and begin the process of sorting, planting and harvesting.

For me, networking and meeting new people was the far more agreeable and productive method of growing my business than cold calling (heaven forbid) or other types of marketing.  But the grind of mining that gold from those business cards was more than I could bear.  There had to be a better way!

 And there is.

It’s called the CardScan Personal v8 Card Scanner.  It’s this nifty, sleek little business card reader that quickly and elegantly scans an entire business card in about 4 seconds.  But here’s the best part:  it automatically syncs itself up with my ACT!database, automatically, with the push of a button, populating my ACT database with all the data from the business card.  It’s the peanut butter to the jelly, the hole in my donut — it’s put my networking into overdrive!

This very easy to use device allows you to review the scan before importing and allows you to add comments and move things around if you want before adding the information to your database.

And while I first heard of the CardScan Personal v8 Card Scanner from a coupon within my ACT software, it works with several other contact management packages besides ACT.

In short, it’s the personal secretary that’s always available.  And never takes long lunches.
