PERSONAL WI-FI
May 7th, 2009 | by genesower |
Have you heard about the new MiFi from Novatel? It works on the Verizon 3G network and allows up to 5 users to get online anywhere there’s cell phone service.
This is a huge game changer!
While there have been USB wireless devices for years, with the MiFi you can leave it in your bag or pocket. A family of 5 can use it in the car! Since it’s about the size of a really fat credit card, it can fit almost anywhere and doesn’t need AC (rechargeable battery lasts up to 40 hours on standby) .
The unit costs between $100 with a two-year contract to up to $270 for a more pay-as-you-go plan. Monthly costs range from $40 to $60 bucks depending on usage.
The MiFi will be available in mid-May of 2009.
